Nestor Cornejo Diaz graduated in Nuclear Engineering from the Technical University of Prague, in 1989. He got the Doctor degree in Physics at the University of Extremadura, Spain, in 2009 and is the head of the Radiological Safety Assessment Group of the Centre for Radiological Protection and Hygiene, in Havana, Cuba.
Since 1990 he has been involved in projects concerning radiological assessments, shielding calculations, evaluation of occupational exposures, and patient dose calculations. He has supervised research projects in the field of statistical simulation applied to the Medical Physics and to the Health Physics and is author of more than 20 scientific papers on international peer reviewed journals and on international conference proceedings. He is member of the Cuban Physics Society.
